LINER

LINER

Piston, liner and circlip are the most important parts of the engine working synchronously.Engine Liner, One of the stationary elements of the engine, the cylinders are the elements that form the outer frame of the engine cycle and guide the movement path of the piston. The engine block itself was used as the cylinder surface, which was not designed as a separate part by some engine manufacturers. In both cases, the tasks expected from the cylinder are the same. The types of the cylinders in contact with the engine cooling water are called wet (wet) liners, and the non-contact types are called dry liners. The inner surface of the liner is the surface where the segments that provide the sealing between the combustion chamber and the crankcase rub against. For this reason, it must have minimum friction and sealing properties. For this purpose, the inner surfaces of the liners are subjected to a honing operation, honing channels are opened to form an oil film, sealing is achieved by reducing friction. Perlitic cast iron with lamellar graphite is generally preferred as a liner material, considering properties such as wear resistance, thermal conductivity, compatibility with engine blocks, and machinability.

The liners, whose casting stage has been completed, are processed using the latest technology in computer-controlled machines, and processes such as processing, honing and coating are completed while passing through an average of 10 different operations.
